Frrrozen Hot Chocolate

Even though it’s kind of chilly outside, the need for FROZEN TREATS never seems to dwindle at our home…

Any of you been to Serendipity 3 in New York??

It’s our FAVORITE “treat” place of ALL-TIME!!!!!!

Specifically, for this gem:

Frrrozen Hot Chocolate!!!!!!! It’s the iciest, best milkshake-like-creation you will ever enjoy. And it’s probably LADEN in calories! I mean, they do serve it with 8 straws, people!! But who’s going to share it with that many friends? Come on. ;)

So, last night I tried my hand at a healthier version of Serendipity’s “Frrrozen Hot Chocolate.”

Into my blender went:

  • 1 heaping tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 2-3 cups ice cubes
  • 1 tablespoon natural peanut butter
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • drizzle of agave

Then blend away!

*Please adjust measurements according to your tastes, and the overall texture of the drink as it blends. I like mine to look like a slushie that I can eat with a spoon. :)

Here’s the final result:

Not quite the same, but WAAAAAY healthier. It totally did the trick for the sweet tooth.

Hope you guys try it next time you have a hankering for a milkshake. :)
