Distractions, please!!

Hi friends! Happy Fat Tuesday!!

Well… it’s actually not so happy for me. I just got home from dropping my hubby off at the airport. :(    I already miss him!! I pretty much cried the whole way home from the airport– and it was a LONG drive! I don’t know how military wives do it… it’s so hard to miss your best friend!!

I never have much of an appetite when I’m sad, so I forced myself to make some juice when I got home:

Today’s juice had a head of romaine, a few stalks of purple kale, 3 carrots, one lemon and one apple. Pretty and tasty! :)

For the rest of the day, I’m going to try to keep myself nice and distracted…

Here are some distractions I’ve thought of so far:

Playing the Wii!

(I love Wii Sports and Mario Galaxy)

Read a book!

I’ve been meaning to read The Lost Symbol since it came out, but now I have some free time to do it!

Learn how to use my new Miracle Balls!

I’ve recently been suffering from some back pain and muscle tension, so I’m hoping these little balls will help! I’ll report back after I give them a try. ;)

There’s always my apartment gym, too! We’ve got TV’s attached to all of the cardio equipment, so I can always watch TV and burn some calories while distracting myself. Double bonus!! Good thing it’s “Treadmill Tuesday,” right? I’ve got two hours of The Biggest Loser to keep me busy!!

Reader Feedback: What do you do to distract yourself when you’re sad or lonely? I need all the tips I can get!

Do things that you really love like exercising and playing in the kitchen ;) well that works for me, and watching some good movies! My BF loves Dan Brown!

Reading is always good! So is writing in a journal.. but that might make you miss your hubby even more. Do you have any pets to distract you? Maybe plan some girl’s nights now that the house is empty. :)

And I thought that I would mention that Google Reader doesn’t seem to want to update to your new website. It may just be me but whenever I put in your new link, it just keeps going back to the old one.

I have a similar Breville juicer and love it. Wii Sports and Mario are great stress relievers, I also like Burnout Revenge on the Xbox 360 :-) Great blog!

Oh honey! I’m sorry :( I really hate it when HTB goes out of town, it makes me blue. Eating junk food used to be my “go-to” cure for sadness, but here are a few things that I do nowadays to cheer up/stay busy:

    - Zumba! Seriously, that class will make you HAPPY.
    - Organizing closets, drawers, clothes, etc. :)
    - Trying new recipes
    - are there things that you enjoy but rarely do? mine are Museums, aquariums, and going out dancing. When HTB is gone and I feel blue, I try to schedule in a few or all of those activities to keep myself busy.
    - bottle of wine + girlfriends + cards = hours of distraction!

I hope some of that is helpful! Your Breville juicer is beautiful. I have it on my registry. I don’t understand why people aren’t buying it.
