My husband’s first stop of his European trip was in Barcelona! Check out the view from his hotel room:
Pretty cool, huh? But what I was really impressed with, is that he took a photo of his meal!!
Looks like all my food photos have been influencing him!
I’m so proud!!!! (I’m pretty sure he took this with his iPhone when no one was looking!) This is a picture from a 7-course dinner prepared by the “best chef” in Barcelona! I’m SO JEALOUS!!!! Of course, now he’s sleeping on a bus… not so jealous of that.
Thank goodness he has some internet access! Makes being away from him a little easier when we can still send each other photos and emails. His emails brighten my day!
Speaking of a bright day, we are having BEAUTIFUL weather today! I’ve got my windows open, pouring in cool air and warm sunshine. Ahhhh! When I woke up, I spent some time in front of my window, bouncing on my rebounder:
Such a great way to start the day! I bounced for 15 minutes while watching a little morning TV. Time flew by, and when I got off, I could feel that my legs and abs had been WORKED! Most fun workout EVER!
After sipping on some hot water and lemon, I finally got around to making my green juice. And I got BRAVE today!
See that stalk of celery? I HATE RAW CELERY. I mean really, really hate it!!! I bought a bag of celery at Trader Joe’s this morning, to use in some soup later (I don’t mind cooked celery at all), but I decided to try just a little bit in my juice this morning. I figured with everything else I put in my juice, I might not even taste it…
That gross color didn’t really help matters, though. I ran out of beets, so my juice took on this green + orange color, which pretty much looks like swamp water. But, it didn’t taste that bad! I’m not gonna lie, I could taste a hint of celery, and I didn’t like that, but overall I could handle it. I think I’m going to keep trying it, until maybe I learn to like it! I’ve heard that technique works with teaching children to like veggies– you may have to introduce a new veggie to a child 20 times before they will like it! And when it comes to raw celery, I’m a big baby.
I’m off to make a smoothie for lunch. I think smoothies are sounding really appealing to me lately because they’re the closest thing to ice cream that I’m gonna get, sticking to my no-sweets challenge. Which really stinks, since I just won a free pint of Coconut Bliss from Maria at Real Fit Mama!
Fortunately, the coupon is good through the end of this year, so I can wait until the end of Lent to use it. Come Easter, you know I will be digging into a pint! I’ve always wanted to try Coconut Bliss ice cream, so I’m so excited that I won! Thanks, Maria!!
Okay, it’s smoothie time!!

Larry and Luna’s coconut ice cream is so creamy and amazing! Hope you love it!! And that green juice looks so good! I love adding some raw ginger to mine to give it a little kick
Yum!
Ugh I have a major dislike for celery, too. But I think you’ve just inspired me to buy a stalk of it on my next produce trip…I need to keep trying it to see if I like it!
How long does it usually take to make your juices?
Barcelona looks so pretty! I can’t wait until I get to travel around the world a bit. Hopefully I’ll get to do it in about 2 years when my little sister graduates. That is, if she still wants to travel with me.
hey girl re celery. there is something about it that you CANNOT mask the taste of it raw. cooked in soups and such, yes. Raw, no way. You will never like it if you dont like it without major act of god LOL. I can taste 1 tiny stalk of celery in a HUGE vat of juice, it just overpowers and i am super sensitive to the flavor, so you’re not alone. My 3 yr old eats an entire rainbow of veggies from zukes and cukes to fennel and beets. And she wont go for celery either LOL
