Hi friends! How the heck is it already Friday?!
I am FULL of energy today, and I think it has a lot to do with all the raw food I’ve been eating. Just goes to show, you don’t have to eat ALL-raw to reap the benefits! My morning started off with my usual routine: hot water with lemon, and 2 Candex, and when I got hungry, I made a heaping glass of fresh, raw vegetable juice:
That’s 19 oz. of juice! What I love about juicing, is that I get the benefits of way more fruits and veggies than I could ever consume if I at them whole. It’s like drinking a multi-vitamin! Check out all the produce that went into this one glass:
A head of Romaine, 1/2 bunch of Kale, some carrots, a small piece of ginger, 1/2 a beet, 1/2 a lemon and 1/2 an apple. I like using only half of my lemons, apples and beets because it makes my juices a bit cheaper than if I used whole versions every single day! These glass storage containers are a life saver:
I only wish I had more of them! I love glass storage containers, because I don’t have to worry about any chemicals leaching into my food! I pretty much use this size everyday for storing my leftover apple, beet and lemon halves for my next juice. I’ve got a couple gift cards to Crate & Barrel leftover from our wedding, so you know more of these are on my list!
After work, I had a half a banana before my running with my friend, Heidi.
She ran with me for 3 miles outside, then I ran back home and knocked out another 20 minutes on the treadmill. (Oh, and I watched Everybody Loves Raymond today– didn’t want another CSI disaster like yesterday!) I’m a little behind in marathon training from the crazy week I had… my husband and I were wallowing, and we both didn’t feel like running before he left! So I’m feeling a little unprepared for the 10-mile run I have on Sunday! Gulp.
Post-run, I made an awesome recovery smoothie:
I filled this guy with 2 heaping cups of fresh spinach, 1/2 a banana, almond milk, 1 T. hemp protein powder, 1 T. raw almond butter, cinnamon, dulse flakes, and 1 cup frozen organic blueberries. The hemp protein makes it a bit grainy, but it tasted delicious!
I realized that I’ve eaten all-raw so far today, and I feel like bouncing off walls! I love it!! In fact, I had so much energy after drinking my green juice this morning, that I actually had to bounce on my rebounder just to get some of it out! It felt great, and I’ve noticed I’ve been in a good mood all day long. I think rebounding is going to be a great addition to my morning routine!
I’m off to take a shower and relax a bit. I’ve got to catch up on The Deep End, Grey’s Anatomy and Project Runway from last night!! Hope you all have a great evening!
Don’t forget: My Kitchen Gadget Giveaway ends on Sunday!
