Surprise Valentine

Happy Friday!! Can you believe it’s already Valentine’s weekend?! I feel like this year is just flying by!

I got a lovely surprise package in the mail today:

A big Box-O-Valentine’s Day fun from my friend, Jennie! She’s so sweet!! I may or may not have immediately have dug into a mini Twix bar… ;)

Check out some of the cool things she included:

Piggie Bobble-head! I’ve named him Wilbur. :)

Filled with Sweet Tarts!

Ring Pop!!

Squirt gun! The husband is totally getting ambushed when he gets home. Bwah-ha-ha! ;)

There’s also TONS of candy in there! Perhaps we’ll bring some of it to the movie theater tonight? We’re going to try and see Valentine’s Day! Did you guys hear that Julia Roberts got paid $11,962 per WORD in that movie?! She’s only in it for 6 minutes!! That must be nice…

Since it’s my husband’s last weekend in town before his big Europe trip, we’re trying to make the most of it! We’ve got a movie date planned for tonight, an engagement party for two of our best friends tomorrow night, and I got him tickets to a play starring Martin Sheen for Sunday! (He’s a HUGE West Wing fan, hence his love for Martin Sheen, a.k.a. “President Bartlet”)

I’m also trying to make him some of his favorite food before he leaves, including plenty of these:

Peanut Butter Temptations! The most addicting cookies on the planet. Seriously. I did try to make these slightly better for him, by using organic sucanat instead of the white and brown sugar that the recipe called for. Since there’s still PLENTY of sugar in the peanut butter cup centers, I figured no one would notice the difference! :)

Since this weekend is going to be full of special nights out, I have a feeling my eating won’t be completely up to par. However, I’ve got BIG PLANS come Monday– a Raw Food Challenge! My husband will be gone for 6 weeks, which seems like a perfect time to challenge myself to eating raw food again– without all the temptations from him! It will hopefully help keep me distracted from missing him, too. :(

To kick things off, I’ve got an awesome giveaway in store for you guys, so be sure to check back on Monday!!

Something to do: Today is your last chance to enter the Pure2Raw Giveaway!! Don’t miss out on your chance to win some of their delicious Valentine’s goodies!!

What a great way to spend the time away from him by focusing on eating healthier. My boyfriend and I go to schools across the country, so I see him about every 3 months. My goal this 3 months is to eat healthier and work out more so I 1) Feel great 2) Look great in a bikini for Spring Break and 3) keep up with him on long hikes.

Oh my gosh, you have the sweetest friend ever! None of my friends send me an awesome box of Valentine’s candy.. haha. I want to see the Valentine’s Day movie too! I can’t believe that Julia Roberts is getting paid that much per word.. it’s ridiculous. But I guess since she’s not in as many movies anymore, she has to make an income somehow. ;)

Those peanut butter temptations look awesome! I love chocolate and peanut butter together.

Super excited for the raw challenge on Monday! I’m not sure if I’ll last 6 weeks but I’m definitely aiming for at least 2.

PS. I thought I had you on my Google Reader but when I looked it over today I realized that somehow I forgot to add you. I could have SWORN that I did. That’s all fixed now but I was wondering why you weren’t updating.. lol.
