Valentine’s Eve

Happy day-bef0re-Valentine’s Day! :D

My husband and I ended up watching the Olympic Opening Ceremonies last night with a couple of friends, so we decided to see the movie, Valentine’s Day, this morning instead!

We both thought it was pretty cute! It was basically a wannabe version of Love Actually, only set on Valentine’s Day instead of Christmas. I thought the story lines weren’t quite as good (Love Actually is hard to beat, in my opinion), but overall, I enjoyed it. It’s fun to see how all the story lines end up intertwining with each other, and I must say, my husband and I were really good at guessing what was going to happen at the end. ;)

I spent the rest of the afternoon shopping for a dress to wear to the party tonight– an engagement party for two of our best friends! I’ve had terrible luck all week finding a dress I like, but today was the day! I went into J.Crew and immediately found a really cute, strapless, floral print dress. Nice and springy, to match the warmer weather we’ve been getting today. The party invitation says the attire should be “cocktail, with a costume edge” so I’m thinking of wearing a purple wig that my friend let me borrow… I’m afraid no one else is going to be very costume-y, so at least I can take a wig off if I need to. My husband is wearing a big, fake mustache. Ha ha. Let’s hope we don’t make big fools of ourselves!

Now I’m off to figure out the cab situation for tonight… we both want to enjoy a few drinks with our friends, but neither of us will drink and drive! Wish me luck! For some reason, taxis in Los Angeles intimidate me… gulp.
