Building a routine

Hi friends! Happy Monday!

I had an awesome weekend– my husband’s FINALLY home! :D

Now that he’s back, I feel like I have to get back into a healthy routine. I definitely got off track the last couple of weeks with my mom’s visit and my doggy drama… but now I have no excuses! There will always be stress in my life, and I need to find new ways to deal with it. I think a healthy diet and exercise routine will help me handle things better, so it’s time to get back on track!

What better way to start the day than with some fresh vegetable juice?

This murky-looking juice actually tasted WONDERFUL! It was packed with a head of romaine, 1/2 a bunch kale, 3 carrots, 1/2 a green apple and 1/2 a lemon. YUM.

I followed my juice shortly later with some green tea:

I’m trying to break the coffee habit again. With my mom in town, I totally got hooked again! Dang it! But I’m wasting no time in cutting it out again– even if it takes multiple cups of green tea to avoid caffeine withdrawal! I’m currently on cup #2, so hopefully I’ll avoid any detox headaches!

I’ve also really slacked off in the strength department lately, so I’m getting back on track with a new set of DVD’s I purchased:

The Physique 57 DVD set! Kelly Ripa credits this workout for helping her sculpt her amazing body, so I figured it was worth a shot! Since I’m no where near the New York studio, these DVD’s are the next-best thing, I guess! I’m committed to do them for the next 30 days. It takes at least that long to really see results, right? The website suggests doing the 57 minute full-body workout 3 times a week, and the 30-minute Express Workout and Arm & Ab Booster each once a week– that’s 5 workouts a week, which is totally doable!

My husband has the day off today (he deserves it!) so I’ll be sneaking in the 30-minute Express Workout today, while he’s off getting a haircut. I hate doing workout videos in front of him, so I have to sneak them in while he’s out. ;)

I’ll be back later to let you know how it goes! Hope you all have a great Monday!

I think we all go off our routines every now and than but it is if you can get back on track that counts ;) And it looks like you are! HUGS

Those workouts look great! Haha, I don’t really like doing my dvds in front of people either and would probably sneak them in when the house is empty. Right now I don’t mind since it’s just my family but when I move out and get a roommate… uh.. yeah. I’ll be doing some serious sneaking. :p

Any workout that can make Kelly Ripa look the way she does is totally worth trying!! I totally hear you on the healthy eating routine – I don’t know where it came from, but my unhealthy habits have somehow crept back in so this week I’m definitely looking to get things back on track!

I am so glad that I found your blog. I can so relate to you with the indulging after getting married. I feel like my husband’s daily food needs (which is always more for males than females) have rubbed off on me! So I’m making the choice to get back on my normal eating pattern.

Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the DVDs! And it’s true, there WILL always be stressful things in our lives; we need to find ways to deal with them rather than to let the stress have its way with US.
