Happy Shopper

Hi friends! Happy hump day!!

Did everyone enjoy LOST last night? One of my FAVORITE characters popped up on last night’s episode, so I’m happy. :D   Parenthood didn’t disappoint, either! I already love that show.

To quickly recap, yesterday I had a sweet smoothie after my Physique 57 workout:

You wouldn’t know by the murky green color, but this was actually very chocolate-y! (I was inspired by Kristen’s Cherry Chocolate Bomb, which has been sweeping the blog world!)

Into my Vita-Mix went:

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 2-3 cups raw spinach
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 cup frozen organic strawberries
  • 2 T. raw cocoa powder
  • 1 T. hemp protein powder
  • 1 T. almond butter
  • 4 drops liquid stevia
  • splash of vanilla extract

This wasn’t quite as sweet as I would have liked, but that’s what I get for using strawberries… they just aren’t as sweet as some other fruits. I’ve got a new smoothie in mind for today, and I can’t wait to see how it turns out! ;)

After a brief afternoon nap, I headed down to the gym for my running make-up session. I’m not gonna lie, running was HARD. My lower body is SO SORE from my Physique 57 workouts! I can barely walk! I’m not complaining– I love workouts that make me FEEL it. But it is putting a cramp (literally!) in my running this week. I ended up taking more walking breaks than I normally would, so I stayed on the treadmill for 45 minutes to make my cardio session “count.” On my schedule today is an even LONGER run, so we’ll see how that goes! *gulp*  At least I have a shorter strength workout today– I’ll be trying the Arms & Ab Booster this afternoon! My legs are really looking forward to the break!

After my workout, for some reason my body was craving a shot of Emergen-C:

I don’t take a regular multi-vitamin, so every now and then I like to get a boost of vitamin C from this stuff. I think it tastes really good! The trick is to use very little water, so it’s really fizzy and concentrated.

Dinner last night was another ginormous salad:

Followed by a bowl of steamed broccoli:

And some 72% dark chocolate for dessert:

Chocolate makes me happy. :D

What also makes me happy is finding sweet deals online! I am typically a loyal Amazon.com shopper, since they usually have the lowest prices and fast shipping…

However, I recently discovered a new-to-me website for supplements! I’ve seen iHerb.com popping up on a few blogs lately, so I decided to give them a look. Comparing their prices to other sites, iHerb was cheaper! Also, their shipping prices are almost too good to be true!  After reading some reviews of their company, I decided to give them a shot. I ordered some Sun Warrior Protein powder (my first time trying it!) and some Spirulina, both for my smoothies. On orders over $40, shipping is free! I also got $5 off for being a first-time customer. Sweet!

I placed my order on Sunday afternoon, and yesterday afternoon my order was sitting at my front door! Talk about fast shipping! Another thing I also love about their site is that they post their products’ expiration dates online, so you know you’re not buying a product that’s about to expire! The expiration date on my products matched what they had quoted!

Check out my new smoothie ingredients:

I can’t get over how BIG these containers are! I decided to compare my old Hemp Protein container to my new bag of Sun Warrior:

It’s a beast! Makes me feel like I got my money’s worth, and I’m pretty sure it’s going to last a while! :D

Overall, I give iHerb.com an A++, and I will definitely be ordering from them again! I noticed my favorite skin care products are CHEAPER there than anywhere else, and offer the cheapest shipping around!

And if you’re a new customer, you can get the same $5 off deal that I got!

Just enter the promo code MIG017 at checkout! And orders over $40 ship free!

Happy shopping! :D

*Disclaimer: I did not receive any compensation from iHerb.com for this post. I came across their site on my own, and paid for everything myself! I’m just really happy with the results, and wanted to share the good news with my readers!
