Juicer Overload

Hi there! Happy hump day! :D

I started my Wednesday off with a jam-packed veggie juice! Check out the small garden I shoved through my juicer:

Two heads of Romaine, a bunch of kale, 1 lb. of carrots, 1 lemon, and some beet greens. Everything was going smoothly, but when I tried to juice that beet, my juicer freaked out! It made a terrible noise, jerked around, and knocked the pulp container off! What a mess!!! Perhaps it’s not accustomed to making TWO juices at a time?! I have been cramming a BUNCH of produce in there lately! ;)

Fortunately, I was able to put everything back together, and finish up. Whew!

These beauties were worth it:

Definitely a good combo right there. Lightly sweet and very refreshing! Ahhh… much better. ;)

Rewind to last night….

My mom and I got a great workout in after work! We planned on taking my pup on another long walk, but when we got outside, it was FREEZING and WINDY! (freezing by California standards, of course) We only made it about a mile by the time we decided to go back inside! Instead, we opted for a nice, indoor workout.

First, some pre-workout fuel:

Mini green monsters! I blended up a head of romaine lettuce with a pint of fresh strawberries, along with a generous dash of cinnamon! YUM.

After those, we headed down to my apartment gym, and walked on the treadmill while watching an hour of CSI. Time flew by! Good thing, because we were getting hungry!! We definitely worked up an appetite. ;)

Dinner was leftover detox lasagna and roasted broccoli:

So good! The broccoli was nice and crispy, kinda like french fries. :D

And we were both craving a bit of dessert last night:

We each had 1 1/2 squares of 72% dark chocolate. It was glorious.

Now I’m sipping on some green tea to ward off anymore detox headaches!! ;)

Something to talk about: Did you guys hear about the NYC chef that created breastmilk cheese?! What do you think? Would you be willing to try it? Do you think it’s any worse than eating cheese from a cow or a goat? Some of the chef’s critics were accusing him of cannibalism! Assuming that we ALL have breastmilk as babies, I don’t really think it approaches that line… but I can’t say it sounds very appealing to me either!! Does it make you re-think the idea of eating cheese in general?
