Hi friends! Happy Saturday!
I slept in with my puppy this morning, on the floor of my living room! She is supposed to refrain from jumping after her surgery, so I figured avoiding my tall bed was a good idea. There is just no way I can prevent her from jumping on my bed while I’m asleep, so I decided taking the bed out of the equation was the best idea. However, sleeping on the floor was NOT very comfy! I woke up with a sore neck, back… everything really. Oh, the things I will do for my pup.
My mom is still in town, so we decided to head to one of my favorite neighborhoods in Los Angeles– Toluca Lake. It is such a pretty, family-friendly neighborhood! Perfect for walking around pretty neighborhoods, and occasionally, spotting some celebs! After living here for 3 years, celebrity sightings have become less-important to us (since they’re everywhere!), but it’s always fun to spot a few when we have guests visiting!
Previously in this area, my husband and I (with our sister-in-law) met one of our favorite One Tree Hill stars, Hilary Burton:
We were thrilled! (We rarely ask for pictures from ANYONE, but she was an exception!) She was SO nice!! (and tiny!)
Today, my mom and I tried a new restaurant in the area, and we ended up sitting next to two actors from a TV show that my mom and I both watch– My Boys. It’s nice when my mom actually watches the show, and knows who that actors are, too!

We saw the two guys on the left. I’m glad to see that they’re friends off-set, too!
After a yummy brunch and some really good coffee, we walked around the neighborhood and stumbled across the cutest park! There were a bunch of trucks around, so we kind of entered with caution, then we suddenly realized that we were on the set of NBC’s Parks and Recreation! There were signs posted around the park, warning us that we might show up as extras in the background, and that by entering the park, we are giving our permission to be filmed. Pretty cool, huh?
I snuck a couple of pictures of the cast:
The ENTIRE cast was right there! So we kinda struck “celebrity gold” for my mom. Not bad for one day in L.A.!
It felt so nice to get some fresh air and sunshine, too! We totally took in the California weather today, which was a nice change from our stressful week! Sometimes a breath of fresh air is all you need to turn your mood around.
Today’s my “off day” from training, so I think we’re off to do some more walking outside!
Hope you all enjoy your weekend!

What a fun day! I’ve only been in So Cal a year; I think I might need to check out Toluca Lake- sounds really cute! The weather was awesome today too; perfect day to take in the sights!
Hi! I love your blog, I’ve been reading for a couple of weeks, but haven’t commented yet (oops!)
I’m super jealous you stumbled across the set of Parks and Rec as I love that show!
That must be so cool to occasionally see celebs!
That’s awesome to see so many cool people. I live in New York but I feel like I never see anyone. I saw Madonna once, that was my big celeb sighting. Have a good rest of the weekend
Ah I love Hilary Burton!! Surprisingly for NYC I haven’t had a ton of celeb sightings – I think they hide out in their apts until I’m safely in my office at work. Sounds like a fun weekend!
you did strike celebrity gold! how cool is that?!?!? your mom is going to have some great stories to share with the folks at home.
and you are too sweet to lay on the floor with your pup!!!
