Weekend Company

Hi friends! Happy Monday!

Sorry for disappearing on you this weekend– my father-in-law was in town to meet his new granddaughter! We all spent most of the weekend admiring this little angel:

Isn’t she precious?? I’m so in love with my new little niece. :D

There are very few food pictures from the weekend, because none of my in-laws know about the blog! We ate out a LOT, so I wasn’t about to whip out my camera in public and deal with all the weird looks! We covered most of the restaurants around town, so I shouldn’t need to eat out again for a while!

When I did get to eat at home, I had some green juice:

(this one was actually NOT one of my favorite combos…) Cucumber, 1/2 a green apple, romaine, and a small lemon. It was just “eh.” I’m going to have to keep experimenting with the cucumber flavor– I love to eat them plain, but juicing them can be a bit overpowering.

I also enjoyed some oat bran after my run yesterday morning:

Topped with almond butter and a drizzle of pure maple syrup. YUM. A really filling recovery breakfast!!

I also tried to sneak in a green smoothie while visiting with my father-in-law:

In my husband’s Iron Man cup. ;)   This extra-sludgy-looking smoothie tasted great, but ended up turning my mouth BLUE! That’s what I get for using frozen blueberries, I guess. When my husband noticed my blue teeth, I promptly stored the rest of my smoothie in the freezer and brushed my teeth! I was hoping I could save it for later, but there’s something about a leftover frozen smoothie that isn’t appealing to me– it’s frozen solid, and I don’t really want to drink a thawed-out smoothie. Oh, well.

Now that the weekend is over and our company is gone, I’m happy to be getting back on track! I’ve got a short run in my future this afternoon, as well as another Physique 57 workout! I took a few days off, so I have a feeling I might be sore again afterward! I secretly like feeling sore, though. ;)   It makes me feel like I had a really good workout!!

We’re also hopefully going to find out about our apartment situation this afternoon! We applied for a new place this weekend, and we should find out if we get accepted today! Cross your fingers for us!

Hope you all have an AWESOME Monday!!
