The Beginning of Insanity

Hi friends! Happy Tuesday!!

My morning started off bright and early with Shaun T:

Shaun T. is the trainer behind the Insanity workout series, and so far, this DVD set is living up to all the hype! Yesterday was Day 1 for me, and even just taking the “Fit Test” was a challenge! In only 25 minutes, I was sweating my booty off!

Today was my first “real” workout, and I don’t think I’ve worked out so hard in my life! My (brave) friend, Heidi, joined me this morning, and we were huffing and puffing for most of the workout! This workout is NOT for beginners– I ran 10 miles on Sunday, and I think my 45 minute workout this morning was harder! Needless to say, we were nice and sweaty by the end! Our plan is to follow the Insanity workout schedule every morning for the next 60 days. Sundays are our day off, but this upcoming Sunday is another long run before we start tapering for the marathon in 3 weeks! I may need to tone down the Insanity in order to prepare my body for the long run each weekend, so I might take Saturdays off until the marathon is over. Don’t want to overdo it, you know?

Breakfast almost immediately followed our sweat-sesh– and my post-workout smoothie has NEVER tasted better:

Half a bag fresh spinach, 1 cup almond milk, 1 cup frozen blueberries, 1 frozen banana, 1 T. Sun Warrior, 1 tsp. maca, and a splash of vanilla. I sipped that sucker down so fast! It was cold and refreshing– just what I needed.

I have a feeling my appetite is going to be through the roof for the rest of the day– it’s not even noon yet, and I’m already craving steamed broccoli! How weird of a craving is that?! Guess what I’ll be having for lunch?? :D

I’ve got to run for now! Be sure to enter my CSN Stores Giveaway this week!

Reader Feedback: Have you ever tried an at-home workout program like Insanity? What’s the craziest, hardest workout you’ve ever done?

Before Insanity, the hardest workout I had ever done was a local community workout program I tried in college– they called it “Dog Days.” Every morning at 6am we would meet at our college football stadium and run drills for almost an hour! You know when your “warm-up” is running a mile, it’s going to be tough! I miss having a free, community program like that!
