Water Snob

Hi friends! Happy Friday!!!!! :D

Did anyone else watch Grey’s Anatomy’s season finale last night? Boy, was it INTENSE! I think they made some bold choices last night,  and set up a really good story for next season! We watched the Real Housewives of New York afterward, hoping for a less-intense pre-bedtime show, but it wasn’t much relief! Those ladies sure do know how to put on a good cat-fight!

During our TV marathon, I enjoyed a few pieces of my new chocolate bar:

Holy deliciousness. This stuff is my new favorite treat!!! It’s a little pricier than my normal Trader Joe’s dark chocolate, but totally worth it. I think I’ll be picking up another bar ASAP! It is the weekend after all. ;)

I also realized something about myself last night: I’m a water snob.

When we moved to Los Angeles 3 years ago, I immediately noticed that the tap water didn’t taste as good as our old water in Kansas. I can’t put my finger on it, but there’s just an “off” taste to it. We bought a Brita pitcher to help filter the taste, and that helped a bit, but then a Sparkletts sales man came by our door one day and offered me a GREAT deal– one that was too good to pass up! We’ve had a water cooler ever since:

I feel so spoiled!! We have great tasting water, and it’s cold or hot instantly when I need it. The only downside, is waiting for water deliveries. (and I don’t really care for using the plastic bottles, but that’s another story…) Since we moved, and I didn’t want to pay our movers to lug around extra water bottles, we are lacking in the water cooler department– and we don’t have another delivery until next week! I had forgotten how much I don’t like the taste of our Brita water (which I still use for my pup), so I’ve been trying to get creative with making it taste better!

Last night, I brewed a strong cup of herbal peppermint tea, then poured it over ice:

The peppermint definitely hid the bad-water-taste! And drinking it through a straw helps, for some reason, too.

This morning, I tried lemon slices:

Totally worked, too! Though, as it gets toward the end of the glass, the lemon flavor gets super-concentrated– so then I just refill my glass and re-use my lemons! For those of you who have trouble drinking enough water each day, I think these are some great tricks to enjoy the flavor more! I think mint, cucumber, or citrus would make a nice addition, too!

In other news, my appetite was still MIA today… I don’t know what’s going on! When noon rolled around again, I decided it was juice-time, whether I was hungry or not!

Romaine, kale, 1/2 an apple, a beet, and 1/2 a lemon. It was perfect!

I’m going to try running this afternoon, to see how my calves are feeling, then I’ve got some errands to run before we see MacGruber tonight! Did you all hear that Whole Foods isn’t selling raw milk products anymore?! This is kinda news to me… even though I think it was announced a while ago. My local Whole Foods was still selling my raw goat cheese as of last week, so I’m thinking of buying in bulk today, and freezing the extras!! I love my raw goat cheese, and life would be totally changed without it! Luckily, this isn’t a state-wide ban, so I may be able to find my beloved goat cheese somewhere else– but I’ve been pretty spoiled being able to get it down the block at Whole Foods!! Sad. :(

I’m off! I’ll let you know how the movie is– I think it looks awesome!!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

    Sarah says:

Grey’s was insane! I was completely shocked when Reed got shot. I just couldn’t believe it. That was very intense. The only thing that annoyed me was the frequency of the commercial breaks.

All your yummy juice pics have me craving some juice now — I’ve been slackin’ in that department lately! Have a great weekend!

I love putting lemons in my water! Especially when it is warm out and I need my water, the lemon is an extra treat :)

haha I did the same thing, I watched Grey’s and then I watched Real Housewives. I def felt better after watching the latter! Putting lemons in my water is one of my favorite things to add. Have a great weekend!
