Hunt for Olympic GOLD

Hi friends! Happy FRIDAY!!!!!! :D

Thanks for all your suggestions on headache remedies yesterday! I rarely get them, but I had the hardest time shaking mine yesterday! Fortunately, a good nap and plenty of water really seemed to do the trick! I’ve been trying to be extra conscious of drinking water today!

Here’s a quick recap of yesterday’s eats:

My usual MASSIVE salad, topped with Garlic Gold crunchies and Lemon-Oregano Dressing.

Followed by another round of Chocolate Cherry Bomb PUDDING:

So. Unbelievably. Good.

Drool. ;)

My late-afternoon snack was also drool-worthy…

I walked by these strawberries at Whole Foods and just couldn’t resist! They were from a local farm and were SO sweet! However, I’ve decided to make a point to ONLY buy organic strawberries from California now, after hearing all the recent disputes about methyl iodide!! The fact that our state can even consider approving something that “…is without question one of the most toxic chemicals on earth,” according to John Froines, professor of environmental health sciences at the University of California [source]–> just plain scares me. :(

Moving on…

Last night my husband called me on his way home from work, and asked if I’d run some errands with him. Of course I would! Turns out, he was VERY excited to get his hands on some Olympic GOLD!

Specifically, these:

Nike released a special edition Air Jordan Olympic 7 shoe today, and my husband just HAD to have a pair! My husband has shoes just like this when he was just a little kid, and they were his favorites!! (He also has quite an obsession with the 1992 Dream Team…) So, needless to say, when he found out these shoes were going to be released today, his inner-little-boy came out like it was Christmas Eve! ;)

Check out the GOLD tips on these laces!

We ended up spending a couple HOURS visiting various stores that might be carrying these shoes! (my husband may have even offered to bribe an employee for an ‘early’ sale!) Ha ha. We basically were told the same thing by everyone– there would be very limited quantities of these shoes available, and there would be HUGE lines in the morning. Great.

I was so exhausted when we were done collecting ‘shoe intel’ that my husband talked me into Indian food for dinner instead of making it at home. (it’s not really that hard to talk me into Indian Food!)

I had my usual, Baingan Bharta:

And a hefty portion of roti (whole-wheat naan):

It was SOOOO good! :D

I was planning on making some raw macaroons last night, and when we got home, they were still on my mind…

…luckily, it doesn’t take me too long to whip up a batch! ;)

I just LOVE experimenting with flavors, so last night I made half Cinnamon Spice, and the other half Mexican Hot Chocolate! I’ve only tasted the batter so far… but I’ve got a good feeling about these guys!

Alright, I can’t believe how fast this day has gone already! I’ve got a Physique 57 workout in my immediate future, then I’ll be back later with a “Reader Request” post! :D

Happy weekend!!!

Something to Do: Keep those entries coming for my Almond Breeze GIVEAWAY! (and thank you SO MUCH for your Blog Away Hunger votes!!)
